The original Leon School was a four-room building that was built at about the turn of the century.  This school burnt to the ground in 1945.  Leon School was built on the top of the town, and the school bell that was heard throughout the town was saved and now resides in the current Leon Elementary School that was opened in 1951. Leon serves 105 students in preschool - 6th grade.
